Author's Note for Gilda And Meek #28 "All Blood Things...: Step Two: Marker" (Un-Iverse #42) 

Shortest story in The Un-Iverse (at least so far) it is essentially only comprised of two scenes. I really like it, especially for the questions it raises about Meek and Gabrielle and why he's defending her when nobody else will. Bernadette expressing solidarity with Gilda here is a great character moment for them both too. 

The reveal that Gragnocks are dinosaurs is cool too, even though we don't use that word yet. All of them coming out of the portal at the end was fun to put in the details for.

My name is Matt Zimmer and I have created a crudely drawn comic book (mostly in the pencil stage) and I have drawn over 50 issues at this point. It's a story of a Lucky Universe in a Multiverse teeming with Unlucky Ones and how our hero navigates that to her own advantage. It's a funny animal book that bit by bit reveals a huge fantasy and science fiction underpinning, much like Bone. It starts off as an erstwhile comedy until you realize it's actually been a drama the entire time. 1. Gilda And Meek "Groundwork" Special Edition (Un-Iverse #1)

Rating: PG-13 (Bloody Violence and Drug Use).  A Note About The Special Edition Of Gilda And Meek "Groundwork" The first version of Groundwork looked absolutely terrible. I had not drawn in over 15 years when I put it to paper in 2015 and my weak arm and lettering indecisions made the issue look incredibly unprofessional. Not my best foot forward for getting people into Gilda And Meek on this site.  So I've taken the occasion to entirely redo the artwork with some minor script revisions. It looks much closer to my current art style and yet I feel the rough spirit of the first version is still present. As the Groundwork for the canon, it was sort of designed to be the worst issue to start out with, and to be built upon and improved from there. I think it's probably still the worst issue (as designed) but I'm no longer ashamed of the artwork. Rating: PG-13. (Adult themes and some bloody violence and gore.) Author's Note for The Pontue Legacy #1 "Part One: The Fall Of Finn" (Un-Iverse #9)  A LOT is revealed about the saga in that Prologue. The Multiverse is hinted at for the first time, and it is made explicit The Un-Iverse takes place in an alternate Universe where magic is very rare. And while we don't exactly tell the origin stories for the species of Cats, Dogs, and Humans here, much less discuss WHY there are Mutated Animals in the saga, the Prologue is the first story that makes us aware that those are all questions to be asking, and that we should look to the saga to reveal bit by bit.
