A joke you probably missed that I am extremely proud of. The Actress' stage name of "Amber Grace" is a take-off on "ambergris", or the whale puke that is used to make perfumes. It's not explicit, but when we see she's starred in an adult movie entitled "Hot Chicks Slathering Each Other In Whale Puke", we realize she's hinted at her entire filmography based on the porn name she chose. It's a dirty joke, and a SMART dirty joke, and one I'm betting you missed. And I like that you missed it, and that I didn't rub the reader's face in it in the story itself as it was happening. It a fun little secret in hindsight.
I consider The Actress one of the most mentally disturbed secondary characters I have ever created. She's obsessed with her gross profession and thinks it answers every question there is to ask about her. She's Hank Hill, and her "acting career" is propane. She obsessed with a very stupid thing to an alarming degree.
I don't find Hank Hill endearing for being obsessed with propane. I think he's bug-fuck crazy. The Actress being so disturbed and obsessed with an even crazier career choice is a way for me to show that of the Hill boys, HANK is the one that Ain't Right. Dude's totally nuts.
The allegory of Vic Puff as The Un-Iverse stand-on for Donald Trump fails on every level. And people roll their eyes at my claims of why. But I maintain, that no matter WHAT I eventually have the prophesized Conduit to Earth's Destruction say or do, Trump is invariably worse on the given subject in question. People think I'm being a liberal wiseass for saying that, but this issue is my receipt. Literally a month after I put it to paper, the Stormy Daniels story broke. See, the difference here is Vic is aware that as a public figure (and a Christian) it is unwise to have sex with a porn star, and he leaves like a sane Republican would. And he's not even married with a baby at home. The most outlandish scenario I concocted for Vic's dating life turned quaint in comparison to reality a mere month later. And shit like that was fucking CONSTANT, and unending, and soul-crushing. Vic was designed to be the worst Republican who ever lived. The allegory would have knocked people's socks off during the Bush Administration. But I was too late in getting back to the story. Instead, Vic's behavior on the date, including thoughtfully warning the Actress about the dangers of getting involved with a politician like him, makes his gross ass actually seem quite gallant in comparison. And that fact pisses me off beyond belief.
